The McCain campaign has been a complete disaster from day one! And the Republicans should feel very nervous right now. He screwed up his campaign royally with all the weekly dumb comments, LIES, flip flops, erratic, irritable behavior

McCain was put in a tough position. The nation was trending anywhere BUT Bush/McCain for a long time. Then Obama came up with a great package. Obama has delivered through and through and has ran an absolutely flawless campaign.

The fact is Obama has LOOKED Presidential in actions and decisions....consistently through the Primaries right till today.....McCain has looked desperate and nearly random, at times. Praising the economy during its free fall and appearing aloof, at best.

The poll numbers are what forced McCain to be so erratic.....choosing a wholly incompetent VP to get attention, rather then someone that could help his campaign......make drastic (bizarre...probably election losing) moves like the 'campaign suspension' (that wasn't).

So, to answer the question.....yes, the election is pretty much over. The trend isn't going to change this close, and if it does it will only get worse for the GOP. McCain's campaign and legacy is pretty much SNL fodder at this point.
